Fii Acolo event - Galati
In Galati, a major city on the eastern part of Romania, young people from 4 or 5 counties gather together for a youth conference. There were between 300 - 400 Baptist youth.
The theme of the conference was The Journey from Success to Significance. At the end of the conference, as we usually do for some time, we ask the young people to take a decision to live their life so that when our days here on this earth will end, we'll meet with each other at the middle gate of the East side of the New Jerusalem. Practically it is a way of saying, "God, I'm dedicating my life entirely to you." They were showing that by pressing their ink colored finger on a paper with a tree on it; a tree without leaves in the beginning, but with lots of colored leaves (their fingerprints) after showing their decision.
At the invitation close to 300 young people came forward to show that commitment.
The number of young people taking that decision is growing throughout . It is becoming more like a youth movement. We did the same thing in several regions in our country.
It was a soul moving experience that night. Just to see that sea of young souls staying in line to make such a commitment to Christ is enough to make you going for several months.
The feed back did not come right away, that day, I mean. People left the room under the pressing presence of God. Next day, after the Sunday morning service where I was invited to preach and that church had a baptism service, several parents approached me and said: "What did you do to my kid yesterday evening? He (or she) came home a different person." "It was not me", I said. "It was God who just poured his presence over us."
