Life Enrichment Retreat
During one of the weekends in October, on a mountain location in Somesu Rece, we were amazed to see the largest group of married couples we have ever worked with (47) gathered together to learn more in the challenging but fulffilling area or marriage - trying to enrich our family life.
Pastor Tom Madden from Bay Presbyterian Church, Cleveland Ohio, has guided us through the weekend going through the following topics:
Facing the myths of marriage with honesty: examining some of the most widely held and destructive marriage myths that plague every marriavge. The goal was to take some of the mythology out of the marriage.
Developing the habit of happiness: focusing on our attitude for it is our attitude that will determine whether you or your partner "live happily ever after". The goal was to help us develop the attitudes that will bring about marital happiness.
We are different - Meyers Briggs MBTI evaluation: recognizing that your partner, by virtue of being the opposite sex, thinks, feels and behaves differently than you do. The personality inventory helped couples better understand each other.
How to fight fair in relationships: knowing how to fight fair is critical to your survival as a happy couple. We have learned how to fight fair and reduce the toxic quarrel quotient.
Developing spiritual intimacy: exploring the spiritual dimensions of a healthy marriage. Examine the needs for spiritual intimacy and its deep meaning for marriage.
