Ramona Abrudan
Financial Director / New Hope worker since 1992
Ramona Abrudan. Born on first of August 1966; in her family only her mother was a Christian. At the age of 14, in a secret Christian camp she was overwhelmed by the Gospel message - a crucial moment that decided her destiny (30th of July 1980). In that camp also she met the one that after 8 years had became her husband - Rei (he also became Christian in that camp).
Since September 1980, the children ministry leaders decided to assist Ramona in her walk with God and to start training her to become a Sunday school teacher. Their decision influenced Ramona's life course. In the next years they helped her understand the price one who decides to follow Christ has to pay.
Before his death, in January 1982, Ramona's father confessed that her decision to follow Christ was the wisest decision she ever made and told her never to step back from the path she has chosen. He also said he regrets wasting his most beautiful years neglecting God. (He was raised in a Christian family, but in his youth was co-opted in the Communist Party) These words encouraged her since, being also a confirmation that it's worth paying the price of following Christ.
The years that followed untill the 1989 revolution weren't easy because she had to pay the price demanded by that times and she had to made some tough decisions. She admits that only by God's grace she met people who helped her carry "the cross".
She started to do ministry in June 1983, by being a Sunday school teacher and then, in 1985 she started working with the junior high kids from her church. Since 1990, together with her husband, she got involved in the youth ministry.
Since 1993 she developed a training program for Sunday school teachers.
The counseling ministry is on her heart, helping mostly young married women.
She does all these activities with her husband, seeking to be a "good and faithful servant" to her Master, which one-day will ask her about the talents she got.
In 1994 she started to work with New Hope.
Besides her involvement in training Sunday school teachers, she also does editing work for the books published by the Cluj office and also keeps the financial reports demanded by the organization.
On July 17th, 1988 she married Rei.
They have two children - Paul Sebastian (born on 8th of September 1991) and Marc Serban (born on 25th of December 1992). They are God's gift to them, but also a reminder of what a child means, how is their world built, which are their troubles, what pressure do they encounter, how to pass from childhood to adolescence. In one word, through their children, Rei and Ramona keep the pace with the generations they take care of...in children, youth and family ministries.
