The "white list"

Are you on the "black list" or on the "white list"? This is a question all of us need to answer. This is the challenge we launched this holidays. Maybe you know already that we are celebrating Easter later than the most people do, according to the Eastern Orthodox Church calendar. We had a full week of church services, a time for everybody to invite their friends, relatives, to celebrate the Resurrection together. Too busy for me... but I don't want to talk about this week. I remember only this Friday night. We called it the "Resurrection Night" even it was a day earlier. All our students were invited, but they also brought many friends, so we ran out of space very quickly. We didn't planned such a big event, but it seemed that our young people was eager to come to an apparently not interesting time of meditation, decision, hearing about death and hope in the same time... I thought they prefer to have a fun time, or some games, a short lecture about Jesus rising from the death and then to have a snack and spend the rest of the night away from home... That late Friday night proved to be a time that many of them will remember. I surely will.

Josh McDowell

Josh McDowell

Last week I had the privilege to be at Josh McDowell's conference in Sovata, Romania. The B.I.G. Impact Network we're part of invited him to Romania for a two days conference. This is part of the bigger plan of inviting some great speakers to Romania, to share their experience and their researches with our youth leaders and pastors. And for many of us, this was a once in a lifetime experience. We have all his books translated in Romanian (New Hope also translated and printed some of his titles) but meeting him face to face and hearing him speaking came as a confirmation of what he has written. "... over the years I tried to write so many books, to serve people like you... Let me help you! Let me work with you through my books!... You don't have the time and money to do all that research... not even close... You, take advantage of it!

Conquering the Wild West

Last summer we started to conquer the Wild West together with about 250 kids. (watch video) This phenomenon started to spread around in several other churches, especially in South of Romania in the flooded areas. (watch video) I loved western movies when I was a child. We don't have this movies any more and I'm sure that our kids don't watch them. But they got the idea and they loved it. They simply liked the theme, so the Bible stories and the message of the Gospel started to make sense when they were presented by some "local cowboys". Once you get in the role it's hard to get back to normal. I met some kids that don't even know my real name, but they call me "Gringo" because this was my nickname in the "Wild West".

Prayer Wings

Thank you again for partnering with us. We really need your prayers and it's not just a word we use to say to be polite. We can see God moving things in Romania, and I'm sure it's not by mistake. The summer is almost here and we have to plan in advance. We will have Vacation Bible School, camps, so we need His guiding and protection upon us, our families and our students. Please pray for this. I also want to bring up the aercurat (fresh-air) project we have. It's a real challenge to keep up with the thousands of people visiting the website. We also need to get more people involved and also to organize some events. For those of you who don't know about this project, here is a video we did some time ago. Since then, the things grew up and we need to bring it to the next level. God bless you!
