Paintball vs. Violence?
Action! We live in a world full of violence. The influence of Media is more than obvious. We believe that the church must talk about this and offer the alternative that Jesus offered Himself: Peace, Love and Compassion. A few weeks ago we opened this subject in our Junior High Group. It was very well received, so we studied different aspects of media such as: music, TV and movies, computer games, Internet, and especially the way they influence our generation. The filmmaker Spike Lee declared: "The most powerful nations are not those who have bombs, but those who control the media. That's where the battle is being fought; that is how you control people's minds."
This is true. Many of our teenagers declared that their lives spin around this things and they cannot live without computers, music or movies. They became an important part of their lives. We believe in the Word of God who says "The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates." We hope that His words will affect their lives.
On May 23rd we concluded this subject with a fun Paintball game. No more violence!
